CBS Television Distribution still dominates in first-run, with the top eight series based on AA (average audience) households for the week of January 23. Year-to-year, leader Judge Judy from CBS (which is tied with Wheel of Fortune this week, also from CBS) increased by 65 percent. But when you factor in off-network, The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men from Warner Bros. and Family Guy from Twentieth (which includes weekend telecasts) makes CBS’ dominance four out of 10 this week (tied with Warner Bros.). Nine of the top 20 shows, in fact, are off-network, which is more than we have seen in recent memory.
Maury from NBC Universal did not crack the top 20, but a 2.6 household rating for the second consecutive week is the highest household rating for the veteran talker since the week of Feb. 19, 2007. Jerry Springer from NBCU, meanwhile, tied its season high with a 1.6.
Here are the top 20 rated shows (first-run and off-network) for the week of January 23:
Judge Judy (CBS Television Distribution) and Wheel of Fortune (CBS): 7.6 rating each, The Big Bang Theory (Warner Bros.): 7.3, Two and a Half Men (Warner Bros.): 6.4, Jeopardy (CBS): 6.2, The Big Bang Theory – Weekend B (Warner Bros.): 5.7, The Big Bang Theory – Weekend A (Warner Bros.): 5.2, Family Guy – Weekend (Twentieth): 4.2, Family Guy – strip (Twentieth): 4.1, Entertainment Tonight (CBS): 3.9, Wheel of Fortune – Weekend (CBS): 3.7, How I Met Your Mother (Twentieth): 3.4, Inside Edition (CBS): 3.3, Dr. Phil (CBS): 3.2, Judge Joe Brown (CBS): 3.1, Two and a Half Men – Weekend B (Warner Bros.) and Criminal Minds (CBS): 3.0 each, Dr. Oz (Sony Pictures Television) and How I Met Your Mother – Weekend (Twentieth): 2.9 each
