As you may have noticed during the commercial breaks of CBS programs over the past month, the network has aired several new on-air promotions for its successful established series.

These promos are all encompassed in the new “CBS Eyecon Image Campaign.” An Australian creative agency called the DMC Initiative (DMCI) had created spots for Fox Classics (link) in 2011, and the executives of CBS took notice. They wanted something similar for their network lineup, and thus, the new promo IDs were created.

The CBS hit shows featured in these promotions are: “Two and a Half Men”, “CSI”, “The Big Bang Theory”, “Hawaii Five-0″, “The Good Wife”, “Person of Interest”, “60 Minutes”, “Survivor”, “2 Broke Girls” and “NCIS”. At the conclusion of each promo, next to the CBS network eye logo, there is the tag line, “Thanks For Watching.”

The animated illustrations are also reminiscent of the opening credit sequences of the Steven Spielberg hit 2002 film, “Catch Me If You Can” (link), as well as of AMC’s critically-lauded drama, “Mad Men” (link).

There has since been a very positive response to the current campaign, which was presented first internally at season launch events in New York City – both at the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) and Carnegie Hall.

Take a look at this 67-second clip of all of these CBS promos for 2012:

I definitely took notice and watch the commercial. Very well done and compelling. And – I love CBS. It’s my favorite station!
