More than 78 million viewers tuned in to see Richard Kimble (David Janssen) square off with the “One Armed Man” (Bill Raisch) in the series-finale of ABC drama “The Fugitive” in 1967. This was the most-watched episode of any regularly scheduled television series until the mystery of “Who Shot J.R.” was resolved on CBS’ “Dallas” on November 21, 1980.
