NBC is beyond dumb for not taking action much sooner.

They are. Even if NBC is viewing Wednesdays as a dump until Upfronts, there’s really no reason for Rock Center to tank the ratings that much. BFFs is about to get replaced by an Off Their Rockers repeat also.

If I was NBC, I’d try to give more exposure to shows that are going to return next season.

Here is a schedule I’d put into effect now:
Wednesdays
8 – Betty White’s Off Their Rockers
830 – Whitney (R)
9 – Law and Order: SVU (R)
10 – Law and Order: SVU

Thursdays
8 to 10 – Keep the Same
10 – Smash (R)

Are Whitney or Smash going to do great in those timeslots? No, but I’m sure a repeat of Whitney could outrank a new episode of BFF, while Smash should do somewhere around a 0.7 demo. We already know Awake and BFF aren’t coming back, so why not use the timeslots to their advantage? They’re wasting the timeslots anyways, so why not waste them with repeats of returning shows? Hell, since Parenthood is looking more and more likely to return, why not run it three hours a week on Saturdays beginning with season one?

It seems that every top show is down about a half point from where it was about a month ago. If you want to see how a show is doing now compared to pre-DST levels you need to add a half point to a show’s demo.

I think the confusion with FOX’s schedule is the fact they have changed it too many times in the past few weeks. My understand is that on Tuesdays its Glee / New Girl / New Girl (r) and on Wednesdays its American Idol for two hours. I could be wrong, but I think that is the official schedule now.

that is my understanding as well. They gave up the 1 1/2 hour performance show a long time ago.

I’m pretty sure its bottom last spring was a 4.0, the previous spring was when it was down in the 3′s against a much strong Idol

MF is UP from last spring……where it was doing mid-high 3s.

no:

Next up was ABC (6.35 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.3, #3) with new episodes of “The Middle” (6.10 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T9), “Better With You” (4.92 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T11) and “Modern Family” (9.53 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 3.8, #2) – all season lows for original, non-holiday episodes – followed by the launch of “Happy Endings” (7.27 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 2.7, #6), a second episode of “Happy Endings” (5.72 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 2.3, #8) and a repeat of “Modern Family” (4.59 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T9).

I think they’re pretty neck and neck. I think both were right around a 5.0 for the season but BBT has been holding up better than Men or MF this spring.

The Big Bang Theory even in tougher time slot, can win against American Idol and deliver better numbers than Modern Family.

Even though it’s obvious that MF will win 2011/2012 in 18-49, TBBT is the big winner of the season.

Which is equal, if not better, than Escape Routes is doing right now.

That’s a safe bet. Escape Routes isn’t the typical NBC series. It’s fully produced by Ford and NBC is just airing it. As long as Ford is making revenue off it, NBC will keep airing it.
