Also MF faces CM which gets a 3 and AI which gets a 5. BBT faces Idol which gets below a 4 in the 8pm hour. Meanwhile nothing else gets over a 1.5 in that slot.

I also hate the term ‘season low’. Every show has to have a season low and a season high. Season highs are almost always in November or January and lows occur in April. So of course MF hit its season low last night. It wasn’t going to happen in the fall other than maybe Thanksgiving eve.

BBT had a 4.4 last week….what are you smoking?

4.2 vs 4.4 is not .5

and MF 4.2 will adjust up

I hope Twins knows that American Idol isnt the highest rated show in the history of television.

Again, as we get closer to Summer, every show declines. It happens every year.

It seems that every top show is down about a half point from where it was about a month ago. If you want to see how a show is doing now compared to pre-DST levels you need to add a half point to a show’s demo.

Are you sure? Date back to Summer 2002 when it first premiered. I’m sure that when Idol was skewing only 8 million viewers and 3-4 demos, it wasn’t hold top honors then (even over summer).

So much chatter for so many questionable reasons…

Idol dominated, simple as that…on Wednesdays Idol has no equal and the other nets are being squashed…yes the show is down but its holding unlike the Voice which keeps dropping.

CBS was down across the board, Survivor hitting a series low isn’t good news but the cast is somewhat boring this season, one of my faves left last night and the rest aren’t so likeable…in fact, it appears to me that the editing is off this season…where is the drama? Minds had another soft outing while CSI tumbled….WHY? The drop from week to week is very severe and makes me question why the huge drop.

ABC was also down….Middle/Suburgatory are now in Old Christine/Gary Unmarried territory and not looking to hot. Modern Family returned to a season low, while Apt 23 started out decently I forsee a drop next week to the low 2′s…a 20% drop is normal for a lot of shows so the prediction IMO is pretty safe ;) Revenge clip show did okay

NBC is yet again a disaster…it should be named CW II. It almost appears as if NBC is doing this on purpose…like they want Weds to fail or perhaps its just SVU they want to axe? Either way viewers are getting accustomed to not watching NBC on this night

On the debate of which comedy is stronger…let me say that it is clear that BBT is the strongest comedy on right now…the biggest reason is that it beats Idol in a head to head competition and advertisers will note that while MF and Men are unable to compete with Idol/Voice. Yes the Hut levels are stronger at 9pm but that argument actually works against the 9pm shows as their demos should be stronger than any 8pm show. You also must consider the shares for each show…MF got 11 shares, BBT gets like 13-14 which is down from last falls 16 shares. When it comes down to the numbers BBT is strongest in the demos but MF wins in DVR usage which IMO is more a bad sign as DVR viewers don’t really watch advertisers commercials. Of note, MF was only .6 above Men’s series low while BBT’s last outing was .5 ahead of last nights Family.

To date BBT is the only show that beats Idol outright on everyone of their head to head battles…no other show can boast that this season, in fact both Men and Family never won a single night vs Idol or the Voice

Winner: BBT

All true, but one small correction. The Big Bang Theory is the only scripted show in the history of television to ever beat American Idol. Not just this season. That is ever. American Idol was beaten once before by the Olympics. Other than that The Big Bang Theory remains the only show to ever beat it.

Survivor has really fallen. If they don’t get a good cast for the next two seasons, I think they may be the last two that’ll ever air. Hard to believe that may be a possibility soon.

CSI is clearly being hurt by the direct competition from SVU. Last week it was around a 3.0 demo, and it dropped six tenths this week with SVU in the timeslot. Hopefully NBC decides to move SVU away, and it’ll probably help both shows.

NBC doesn’t think about like shows airing against other like shows, they don’t know how to counter program or program in general, sad to say.

I’m surprised that they insist on keeping law and order in the time slot where many law and orders have died.

I was looking at 2 weeks ago…my error, last week it was 4.4/15 shares

But it still beat Idol and it still beat MF at a lower hut level timeslot…why are you so defensive?

why compare 3-4 years ago when ratings were higher back then? that shows you how well TM/Sub are doing…solid!

A 2.1 is NEVER solid period.

Yet most of you don’t agree that bbt should have even moved to thursday nor should they build a two hour comedy block behind it. and the 25 posts to follow…….

I don’t get nbc, not even a network in this bad a shape would keep rock center on the air, which only further cements that they are in bad shape.

I think it’s more indicitive that NBC has this blind favoritism to Brian Williams. Any show producing ratings like this show has wouldn’t have been kept on air, let alone three timeslots.

Wednesdays are actually very simple for NBC: two hour comedy block and a drama (Smash?). That’s where they should head. The problem is nothing is working on this night to really get them on this path. They still need an 8 PM show. They don’t have any traction at 9 PM. And Law and Order: SVU needs to move out of the 10 PM timeslot.
