Harry’s Law was dumped by a stupid network!

While it was Memorial Day Weekend, Harry’s Law had an opportunity to prove that it could capitalize on mostly repeat competition and it didn’t. NBC made the correct decision here. It would have never skewed any younger or been any cheaper.

Are you freakin kidding me?!? There is next to no other night with as many people away from home as the Sunday of memorial day weekend, especially given the amazing weather around most of the country, and HL still grabbed almost 6 million viewers, on a network that couldn’t grab that in the middle of winter to save their life. The HL skewing old debate is long settled, but NBC proved that this audience was as loyal as they come for an older group, and they will certainly regret pissing off DEK, next season when their new slew of comedies (once again) flop.

60 minutes is way down too so I guess no matter what aired nobody cared. Most celebrate memorial day at least in the evening Sunday. Monday’s ratings may not be affected as much. Goodbye Harry’s Law, I really enjoyed the series finale as it was a pretty good wrapped up conclusion involving harry’s Ex.

I watched a lot of finales last night:

1) The Finder series finale – Was utterly superb. Show had loads of potential but people tuned out . . .again. Great wrap up with his fathers dying wish, his estraged mother in witness protection, the missing painting, and Willa’s messed up family. Everything fit perfectly.

2) The Fringe season finale – Suspenseful and a whole lot of “God complex”. I must say when Walter willingly put a bullet in Olivia’s face i was really shocked. Finale wasn’t as “shocking’ as prior finales but overall good none the less.

3) Nikita season finale – Wholly suspenseful but it came across as a series finale (I can’t blame them for doing that). I don’t know how they are going to handle season 3 after so many deaths and radical changes.

It would make sense that the ratings for HL would be least affected by Memorial Day. Who are the people (generally speaking) who are most likely home and not out bbqing? The older audience. And clearly it’s been established that if you’re over 49, you don’t count anymore… which is stupid.

It’s just for this week to fill in programming and Thursday the next week before Saving Hope/Rock Center comes in. After that, there shouldn’t be any regularly scheduled repeat of America’s Got Talent besides Sundays 9 to 11 PM.
