I’m guessing CW will be disappointed with Ringer’s ratings. At face value they aren’t bad, but considering that it wasn’t facing full network competition and the show was heavily advertised, they probably expected better.

Part of me wonders if it’s just the show didn’t click or if it’s the network. If CW can’t get 3 million for a highly publicized show, can they reach 3 million viewers this year?

90210 did terrible. Those ratings are way too low for a season opener. Gossip Girl/Hart of Dixie won’t be much higher.

Okay so we got RINGER’s numbers…but what is the consesus on the actual show. Good quality? A sucessful return to tv for Sarah Michelle Gellar? Could it have a future based on the storyline?

Yup, The CW is going to be dead quickly. If its most promoted new show gets less than 3 million viewers, just imaginge how bad Heart of Dixie and H8R are going to do. This has gotta be 90210′s last season. I don’t know why they keep renewing this turkey.

Hart of Dixie and H8R are both going to be DOA. I agree, if CW can’t find hits fast, it won’t last long. They should have never given up Friday Night Smackdown! It may have not fit its audience profile, but it had a steady audience on a dead TV night. They should have built compatible programming around it that was action oriented but still having a female slant.

Vampire Diaries does pretty well in DVD sales and Supernatural has done ok in the past, but nobody is buying anything else on the network. It will probably be the affiliates that decide enough is enough and get rid of the network, instead of the studios.

DVD Sales are down massively from previous years. GG and 90210 didn’t even manage US sales of 16,000 units (90210 has always done poorly), GG (used to sell 60,000 to 50,000 for its first week). International sales and home market we never, ever see data for.

I like the premise and think the pilot was well done. But this is not Buffy and the target audience is not The CW’s. That said, I never should have given this 3-1 odds.

If you could do it over again, what odds would you have given it Marc?

On a more positive note, it’s good to be talking about fall shows again!

Good point!
They should have been developing a few shows like PRIME SUSPECT or FRINGE, where the lead character is a strong, action female. At least they could still get a few “general audience” viewers on top of the female demo.

Don’t worry. It will be around come February and even May.
