I’m going to hate to see those NBC numbers next week! Yikes!!

I take it the CW was pre-empted, those numbers are REALLY high.

NBC’s numbers are bad. Maybe it’s just a case of people not knowing that those show’s were premiering this week. Or, not knowing that at least two of those shows haven’t been canceled yet.

A complete disaster for NBC but everyone saw this coming. Up All Night and Parks and Recreation should be pulled right now. It’s not going to get better next week. The whole Thursday night comedy lineup idea is dead for NBC and at this point, they’d be better off encoring shows or putting on reality than continuing on with this lineup. Instead, they should focus on comedies on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday where they will likely do better.

NBC has 22 episodes of Parks and Recreation. I really can’t see them pulling it after one episode.

That’s true. It was done for syndication purposes, but if it’s at 1.7 this week, it’s going to drop to 1.5 or lower when the competition arrives. That’s not something that should be on Thursday and it’s going to have to be pulled fairly soon for another day and timeslot.

But the repeats you suggested would do much worse than a 1.5. Parks and Rec holds an alright amount of its Office lead in. NBC is likely to redo this night in January anyway so most of this is just place holder for now. You can’t fix everything and NBC chose to fix Monday-Wednesday first (probably a good idea). Their Friday lineup will do fine from 9-11 but the comedies at 8 are a boneheaded idea. Not only do they not fit with Grimm, but their audience isn’t home on Fridays. That said, I would bet Animal Practice and Guys with Kids don’t last too long, so perhaps we’ll see Whitney back on Wednesdays.

My guess: the Friday comedy lineup isn’t happening now. Community replaces Up All Night at some point, Whitney replaces whichever of Animal Practice/Guys with Kids bombs the hardest. Have to see what happens on Wednesday, though.
