That’s terrible for Emily Owens. It will be under a million viewers very soon.

The Voice did really well at 9PM (and this is WITH possible power outages in the North East). The finals yesterday didn’t damage the shows too much (except DWTS and Castle) will be interesting to see if ABC sees that occur again.

Looks like FOX screwed the pooch with Ben and Kate and the Mindy Project. Unless FOX is desperate, these shows don’t deserve a second season must less a full season order.

Emily Owens MD is so dead. Will probably track lower soon its in Nikita territory

ABC Tuesday’s are a disaster. Whoever renewed those two comedies and thought they could survive here, should be fired. I’m pretty sure, Private Practice will get higher ratings than those two comedies in the next few weeks.

The Voice is getting fantastic ratings this season. If it can manage those ratings for the live shows then that would be great news for NBC.

CBS just can’t figure out what to put at 10pm on Tuesday. Nothing seems to work there. TGW or The Mentalist could get better ratings than Vegas.

All things considered, “Raising Hope” is holding its own on Tuesday, compared to freshman “Ben and Kate” and “The Mindy Project” (neither of which really deserve their additional episodes/full season order).

I also think that “Happy Endings” is doing as good as could be expected of it, since it really hasn’t aired outside of a protected or semi-protected time slot before moving to Tuesdays. I don’t know if the numbers are good enough to justify a fourth season or not, but “Apt. 23″ is in worse shape than “Endings” is right now, in my opinion.

I had earlier predicted that ABC, NBC, and Fox would be in a comedy horse race at 9:30 p.m. and so far that does seem to be the case, even though all three comedies have yet to face off against each other (Nov. 13 will be the earliest for that competition thanks to pre-emptions). Depending on how much NBC’s “Go On” is hurt by having an expected two-week hiatus (along with “The New Normal”), there could also be a photo finish in the race among the 9:00 p.m. comedies as well.

Ben and Kate, The Mindy Project, Apartment 23, Happy Endings, and Emily Owens M.D. should all be cancelled. None of them are doing a solid enough job to remain on the schedule.

Raising Hope isn’t doing great, but it’s been very stable all season (1.7 and 1.8 demos).

Vegas is up a bit, but still not good enough.

No, I disagree. Happy Endings should be at least getting low 2′s. It was given a huge lead in last year, and was given that for a whole season. Most shows aren’t given that privilege. Happy Endings didn’t deserve another season and it was a waste of MF huge lead in. And sadly, it doesn’t look like MF will ever get the high ratings it got last season ever again.
ABC should learn from the way CBS treat their shows; the shows they put after TBBT still did better than Happy Endings, but CBS cancelled them anyway, because they knew that given the lead in, they could find a show that could do so much better. If ABC thought like this, then they wouldn’t be in the situation that they are in now.

Apt.23 was only behind MF for a short time, so I feel bad that it will be cancelled this season, but even last year when it was behind MF, its retention wasn’t good enough so even it didn’t deserve another season.

ABC and CBS are like comparing apples to oranges…it just isn’t the same. CBS can afford to cancel middling performing series (or at least they used to be able to), while the other networks don’t really have that luxury. And, not every show is like “Modern Family” or “The Big Bang Theory”. They are in a group all by themselves. Even a veteran show like “Two and a Half Men” struggles to maintain its “Big Bang” lead-in…really performing no better, retention-wise, than other shows in that time slot. Also, look at “Suburgatory”, which was actually doing better following “The Middle” last season than it is now following “Modern Family”.

ABC probably looks at “Happy Endings” as its version of “Friends”, and I would argue that its target audience is being cannablized by Fox’s competing “New Girl” and is also incompatible with its older-skewing (though still high rated) lead-in “Dancing With the Stars”.

I do agree that the renewal for “Apt. 23″ does boggle the mind. Nothing in its initial performance last season should have led to its renewal.

If ABC and all the other non-CBS networks thought like you want them to, they could very well be in much worse shape than they already are.

I read that DTTBIA23 still has 6 episopes left over from last season so ABC as a lot of inventory of this low rated show.
