Glee is definitely on the downside, which I refer to as the “too much too soon” syndrome.

Poor 90210! I feel bad for it. It had a bunch of competition last night. I don’t get why “Ringer” gets better ratings than 90210; it might be because it’s new and SMG, but the show itself is way worse than 90210.

Glee– I don’t like Glee, and never will. I think one year ago it got something around 5.5 in the demo and over 12 million viewers, now it dropped almost 2 points in the demo and lost about 4 million viewers. What will be in one year from now? 2.2?

BOP ratings are dissapointing, too. ABC will have to cancell it by the end of the season, just like a bunch of their new shows. And I can’t wait to see it!

Given how much FOX has invested in promoting Glee (and cross-promoting Glee, and merchandising Glee), does anybody think there’s any chance at all of it not getting renewed for at least one more season after this one?

Not saying it should be, but I’ll be surprised if it isn’t.

PARENTHOOD is a loser. Its numbers are horrid. It should never have been renewed. the ONLY reason its still on the air is because it airs on pathetic NBC. Less than 6 million viewers, on aTuesday night, is not a consistant, solid performer.

I would say its time for NBC to cut the order and go with something new in January, but with their track record, it CAN get worse.

I’m sorry, but there is no way Parenthood is a loser. It’s the only reliable drama, besides SVU, that NBC has on the schedule. Week after week it performs well. It has its own built-in audience, both live and in DVR. And, even with a weaker Biggest Loser, Parenthood is still right on par with what it was doing last season. It’s already bad enough that it only has a 16 episode order . . . it also has to deal with unfair treatment by ratings critics? Unbelievable….

Parenthood already has a 16 episode order, so it should follow the same path it followed last season and be off the air early to make way for something (hopefully) bigger.

BY HALF HOUR
CW A18-34 W18-34 A18-49
07:30 0.9/4 0.9/3 0.8/3
08:00 0.8/3 1.0/3 0.7/2
08:30 0.8/2 1.1/3 0.7/2

CW, this is pathetic. The programs that aired across the country at 7:30pm did better than your original programming (90210) at 8pm.

FOX had a great night. Glee is still doing well in the demos. I wouldn’t be suprised if we see a spinoff of some type when some of the main cast leaves. New Girl is a hit. Raising Hope did OK also.

NBC is in trouble. The Biggest Loser is dead. Parenthood did OK considering it didn’t have a lead in.

CBS has a good night. NCIS/NCIS: LA did well. Unforgettable is deceptive as the ratings look good but how long will they hold up? I have a feeling that this is going to be very old skewing.

ABC will do better with Dancing with the Stars at 8 PM than the comedy block. Body Of Proof did OK but it is old skewing.

CW is in trouble. Ringer/90210 are both struggling. Ringer especially has been a disappointment.

Overall, I think this will be the year for FOX. The New Girl did well. I think Terra Nova will be well sampled. And I also see The Finder becoming a hit.

What would they put on Tuesdays that would pull a high 3 demo? More X-Factor? I think it’s safe for at least two more years.

Please don’t! One stupid musical show is enough!

CW is in trouble.

Tell me something I don’t know. ;)

I think ABC will have many other bigger problems to worry about (like Charlie’s Angels, Once Upon a Time and Pan Am), so I imagine it will leave Body of Proof intact.

Quote from tvratingsjunkie on September 21, 2011, 17:01
I think if Body of Proof continues its slide, they may cancel it midseason. That way Dana Delany can go back to Desoerate Housewives for its final season, her departure from DH was very noticeable IMO.

I agree. I wrote before that out of all the new fall shows, I only see Suburgatory working. The rest are going to struggle.

May not be in the high 3′s by the end of this season–almost certainly not by the end of the next season. I agree that the ratings, reduced as they are, are good enough to merit renewal, but I don’t think they’ll be the primary reason for renewal, even if they’re sustained through this season.

Glee just has too much of a money-machine behind it. Part of the reason it’s fading so quickly, I think, is that viewers are overdosing on it. I mean, a movie? In theaters? C’mon. But there it was anyway, and it flopped miserably. But the machine cranks on, until every last bit of revenue has been squeezed out of this rather slight concept.

In ridiculous DWTS news, Elisabetta Canalis is annoyed she is being linked with George Clooney. I’m sure should totally would have been on the show if she didn’t date one of the most famous men on Earth.
