I don’t think it would work in this day & age.
One guy living with two girls is not a big deal anymore.
It is a series that is very 70′s.

How about a Three’s Company remake?

If you wanted to remake a 70′s comedy series, MORK & MINDY could work, if cast right. Its familiar, yet not seen by most under 25 years old.

The reason Jack was “Gay” was so that he could live with Chrisy and Janet, because the old landlord (Mr. Roper) was old fashion.

Today, an old landlord would be a product of the 60′s hippy movement (Peace, Love, Drugs).
People living together out of wedlock is very common now.
Just look at NEW GIRL. One woman living with 3 men. No biggie.

The only way it might work is to make the “Third” person be something else that he is not, that could get him into trouble. Like an Illegal alien (I’m Hispanic, not Muslim)
Or take the BOSOM BUDDIES route and he lives in a women-only complex and has to pretend to be another woman. Bur memories of JUANNAMAN may still be around.

Not only that but with housing regulations today a landlord would have no say, unless maybe if it was a multifamily house or something, but certainly not in an apartment building.

They could remake the love boat, but due to a recent rash of murders/people disappearing overboard you have a CSI crew permanently on board.

Isn’t ABC “re-making” the comedy “Bosom Buddies” to a degree with the midseason comedy “Work It”, which also features men dressing as women?

Coming Fall 2012 to CBS…”CSI: Caribbean”

Seriously, that premise could work if handled in a parody format, similar to Adult Swim’s “NTSF:SD:SUV”.

Remakes don’t work. John Ritter would being rolling over in his grave.

UPN already tried that a few years back. It sucked.
