Ratings Breakdown:
Ignited by an encore telecast of NCIS, CBS led this final Tuesday in December with 4.61 million more viewers and an eight percent advantage among adults 18-9 over second-place ABC, according to the fast affiliate data from Nielsen Media Research. The NCIS encore was the most-watched program and highest rated in the demo for the evening with 12.53 million viewers and a 2.1 rating/6 share among adults 18-49 at 8 p.m. That led into older-skewing The 34th Annual Kennedy Center Honors at 8.35 million viewers (#2) and a 1.1/ 3 in the demo (#2t) from 9-11 p.m., with the half-hour breakdown as follows:

The honorees last night were Barbara Cooks, Neil Diamond, Yo-Yo Ma, Sonny Rollins and Meryl Streep. The Kennedy Center Honors was the only original show last night.
ABC populated the evening with encore telecasts of Last Man Standing (two episodes – Viewers: #2, avg. 5.89 million; A18-49: #2, avg. 1.5/ 4 from 8-9 p.m.), The Middle (Viewers: #2, 4.75 million; A18-49: #1, 1.4/ 4 at 9 p.m.), Suburgatory (Viewers: #2, 4.06 million; A18-49: #1, 1.2/ 3 at 9:30 p.m.) and Body of Proof (Viewers: #2, 5.13 million; A18-49: #1, 1.1/ 3 at 10 p.m.). Keep in mind, new ABC sitcom Work It debuts in the Tuesday 8:30 p.m. time period into Celebrity Wife Swap at 9 p.m. beginning on January 3. The live Dancing With the Stars Results Show returns in March.
Elsewhere, NBC aired an encore of two-hour special, The Biggest Loser: Where Are They Now? (Viewers: #3, 2.98 million; A18-49: #3, 0.9/ 3 from 8-10 p.m.), followed by a repeat of Parenthood at 2.03 million viewers (#3) and a 0.7/ 2 among adults 18-49 (#3) at 10 p.m. Fox filled the night with repeats of fading Glee (Viewers: #4, 2.18 million; A18-49: #4, 0.7/ 2), New Girl (Viewers: #4, 2.78 million; A18-49: #3, 1.0/ 3) and Raising Hope (Viewers: #4, 2.69 million; A18-49: #4, 0.9/ 2). And The CW capped off the evening with an encore telecast of 2008 theatrical Keith at 945,000 viewers (#5) and a 0.3/ 1 among adults 18-49 (#5) from 8-10 p.m.
As a reminder, Tuesday will remain intact on Fox with Glee, New Girl and Raising Hope until March 6 when encore telecasts of New Girl opens the evening into the return of sitcom Breaking In at 8:30 p.m. Megan Mullally joins the cast of Breaking In for this upcoming second season.
