Music extravaganza Your Hit Parade was upgraded from radio to television on NBC in 1950, and stayed on the network through June 1958. CBS picked it up for the 1958-59 season and revived it briefly in the summer of 1974. Also on this day was the debut of a four-week summer variety series hosted by Gladys Knight & The Pips on NBC in 1975.
