Jack Paar Walks Off “The Tonight Show,” “Blind Faith” Debuts

February 11, 2014 by Marc Berman in Fun Stuff with 0 Comments

In 1960, Jack Paar walked off “The Tonight Show” after NBC censors edited out a segment taped the night before about a joke involving a water closet. He returned on March 7 and stayed with the late night talk show for two more years until Johnny Carson took over. Also on this day was the debut of two-part NBC miniseries “Blind Faith” with Robert Urich, Joanna Kerns and Jonny Galecki in 1990, which was based on the 1989 true crime book of the same name by Joe McGinniss.
