FX has renewed sitcom Louie for a fourth season, with an order for 13 new episodes. Eight new half-hours remain this season. The cable net, in addition, has picked-up seven additional episodes of BrandX with Russell Brand, which will return in October behind new episodes of The League, and has announced the casting of Robert Kelly (NYC 22), stand-up comedian Godfrey (Louie), Josh Segarra (Homeland) and Shirley Rumierk (White Collar) for upcoming comedy pilot Bronx Warrants. Created by Dean Lorey (Arrested Development, My Wife and Kids), Bronx Warrants revolves around a group of errant warrant detectives assigned to arrest individuals with outstanding warrants. With bonuses paid out for each “body” they bring in, the detectives are out to get rich rather than dole out justice.
At a session for recent sitcom entry Anger Management, an announcement was made that Martin Sheen has been cast as son Charlie’s TV Dad. “What the entry of Martin Sheen’s character will do is it will give an extra dimension to the show and make it a multi-generational family show,” said FX Entertainment President John Landgraf. “The show will still deal with his relationship with his patients and the women in his life, but will also expand to focus on his family.”
FX is expected to extend Anger Management’s episode order from the initial 10 half-hours to 100.
