LOL. I smell a ratings disaster cooking!

  2. yankeesrj12Aug 2, 2012 at 7:20 pm

The hosts are also doing the ABC Fall Preview Show (on local stations). ABC is really giving The Chew a solid push in its second season.

  3. carolcAug 2, 2012 at 7:20 pm

Does this mean that ABC is worried about the Chew’s ratings? They should be but I wish they’d spend as much time and energy to promote General Hospital.

  4. camilleAug 2, 2012 at 7:23 pm

Duck and Cover those of you who watch ABC on Sunday nights Fair Warning Change The Station….lol

  5. carolcAug 2, 2012 at 7:30 pm

Please read Camille’s warning – she knows what she’s talking about.

ABC continues to go down hill. At one time I remember ABC was always on at my house – now it’s only one hour a day Monday thru Fridays watching the only soap they have left! Insane! They have absolutely nothing! Guess they won’t be seeing any big bonuses from now on! LOL!! Horrible network – horrible! Obviously a Cheap Network to boot! Sigh……….

  7. sjmarcipanAug 2, 2012 at 7:35 pm

LOL Camile! Love it. I no longer watch ABC except for GH – Duh – so I won’t have to duck or cover. Hoping this means that GAWD awful show is having a ratings drop. I still have no clue how it’s even survived this long. Gag!

  8. SmurfAug 2, 2012 at 7:42 pm

I’m sadden by ABC’s decision to continue to shove this show in our faces. If I don’t want to watch it during the day I certainly do not want to watch it on my Sunday evening while I’m relaxing before work the next day. ABC has ruined daytime tv and are on the verge of just wreaking it all together maybe they should sign over the rights to AMC and OLTL and quitely go into the night.

  9. okicarolAug 2, 2012 at 8:23 pm

I will not be watching anything on ABC but General Hospital and Castle. I don’t care about ABC anymore since they no long care about their views.

    • okicarolAug 2, 2012 at 8:24 pm

Viewers—it is hot and I am not thinking clearly.

  10. camilleAug 2, 2012 at 8:58 pm

For the sake of Humanity I plead with you to avoid this show at all costs. It is terrible.

  11. NanAug 2, 2012 at 9:28 pm

A message to Mario ~~ if your show needs a boost in ratings, GO TO THE FOOD NETWORK!

  12. okicarolAug 2, 2012 at 9:36 pm

I don’t know what ABC is thinking— the new shows are tanking and they are trying to make people believe the shows are doing GOOD— LOL ABC

  13. NoMoreChewAug 2, 2012 at 9:42 pm

Is ABC EVER going to stop shoving garbage down our throats and telling us it’s champagne and Filet???? It’s like they just can’t help but PISS OFF SOAP FANS! NEWSFLASH! Soap fans watch other TV…..on OTHER NETWORKS. If you want to drive us further away, just keep pushing.

  14. Cindy1951Aug 2, 2012 at 10:24 pm

How to kill a network and lose money for the stock holders. Why would I want to watch a want-to-be cooking show when I have Cooking network,Food Network and PBS Create????????Shame ABC was once a great network not any more!!!!!!!!Run stock holders.

  15. LindseyHAug 2, 2012 at 11:18 pm

Spewing after dinner is disgusting! I will continue to boycott ABC day and night except for the General Hospital hour.

  16. iluvsswAug 2, 2012 at 11:21 pm

Will someone please tell me this is a joke because I really can’t stop laughing?

  17. LuvbooksAug 2, 2012 at 11:55 pm

Sounds like they are desperate to me!! I won’t be watching that’s for sure!!

    • lady dianneAug 3, 2012 at 1:00 am

u must be desperate abc. i cant believe u r still making bad choices. i only watch general hospital during my daytime and i will never tune into your boring cooking show the flop chew

  18. nmelmanAug 3, 2012 at 12:08 am

Is this ever going to stop? It just keeps getting worse and worse. Unfortunately I am not laughing. Does any man want to watch a cooking show in primetime? I want to know who is going to watch more of their crap. Now onto making Katie bomb which won’t take much effort. ABC has the worst programming choices in history except the only good show they have GH. These people (Paul Lee for primetime) really are very dumb.

  19. Barb HermanAug 3, 2012 at 1:57 am

Cooking … in PRIME TIME?????? Whatever. Won’t be watching anyway. ABC has had disaster after disaster in programming and scheduling, and their ratings continue to plummet while they consistently wonder why. If they would just ASK the viewers (or should I say previous viewers – exception being General Hospital) the suits in NYC would quickly solve their ratings dilema. Sadly, they apparently don’t care enough. (sigh)

  20. susanmzAug 3, 2012 at 4:15 am

    Gross, just gross.

  21. tinafgAug 3, 2012 at 11:27 am

    Keep trying, fools!

  22. CTwildheartAug 3, 2012 at 2:29 pm

Trying to boost their daytime ratings with a primetime special…not a bad idea – except the show is not what most people want to see!
I would almost be glad if they moved it to primetime permanently!
    Sorry, still won’t watch…

    • Troy TurnerAug 4, 2012 at 6:47 pm

While the idea for cross-promotion is not new-this reminds me of when networks would promote their Saturday morning lineup when we were kids-the real story here is that ABC has ZERO confidence in The Chew. Why else would you put this special on at 7/6 local on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend… We know the truth, ABC, and are NOT buying it…

  23. crazyforpugsAug 3, 2012 at 8:47 pm

Primetime or Daytime, I will not watch The Chew. Too bad they didn’t work harder to make AMC and OLTL more successful. OLTL wasn’t doing a bad job on it’s own. They will never admit that they were wrong; we will never see those shows again thanks to ABC.

  24. MistyV76Aug 4, 2012 at 6:29 am

It’s sad to see ABC ignore their real demographic and what that demographic has cried out for for over a year now. Give back the real programming that we want, scripted drama. Not a bunch of chatter about things that if we are interested in learning they have whole channels devoted to them already. For once, ABC, be unique and bring back All My Children and One Life To Live and bring your ratings back and above and beyond those of your competitors. Do something that no one else has, listen to your audience instead of trying to pull in viewers with cooking shows and babbling. It’s embarrassing.

  25. Save TheSoapsAug 5, 2012 at 3:11 am

I wouldn’t watch the chew if it was the only thing on television, I don’t care what time they put it on! I watch GH online and I will never, ever watch anything else on abc. I wish them nothing but the worst!

  26. ShannonBAug 8, 2012 at 10:55 pm

When I first read about this, I thought it was a joke: Surely, no network would move a show from daytime to primetime with numbers like the chew has, right? How wrong I was. The leadership crisis at abc is even worse than I thought. Do they think that people aren’t watching because it’s on in the daytime? No…people aren’t watching because it is a BAD show.

    • Troy TurnerAug 9, 2012 at 4:11 am

      Shannon,

This is not meant as a defense of what they’re doing, but you are aware that this is a special, right? As I have stated before-this shows that ABC has ZERO confidence in The Chew. Why else would you bury this at 7/6 local on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend…

  27. sjmarcipanAug 30, 2012 at 8:18 pm

How pathetic. Won’t watch. ABC you suck.

  28. dadinbradOct 15, 2012 at 5:58 pm

The Chew wouldnt be so bad if they would get rid of that annoying Michael Symon guy. I turn the channel every time
