Al Roker (second from left) uttered a noticeable quip at host Matt Lauer (fourth from right) on "Today" on August 16, 2012.
Three members of the 2012 Gold Medal-winning U.S. women’s Olympic rowing team – Mary Whipple, Meghan Musnicki, and Esther Lofgren – visited NBC’s “Today” show on the morning of Thursday, August 16th.
At the conclusion of the segment, host Matt Lauer commented on the women’s victorious gesture of throwing one of their own teammates into the water by joking, “the tradition here in New York is to throw her in the Hudson River.”
Weatherman Al Roker then added, “…which is different in our tradition, which is to throw one of us under the bus. But that’s another story.”
What might Mr. Roker be referring to?

Lauer answered lightheartedly with a “Mr. Roker!”
Guess that honeymoon from the London Olympics is over, eh?
