Hallelujah, GSN.
“The American Bible Challenge”, the new hour-long game show hosted by Jeff Foxworthy (formerly of “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?”), premiered on Thursday, August 23rd to an average of 1.73 million total viewers, and 550,000 viewers in Adults 18-49, according to Nielsen Media Research. This is the largest viewer number ever for GSN, eclipsing the previous record of 1.2 million viewers, set by the March 2003 documentary, “Big Bucks: The Press Your Luck Scandal”.
An average of 571,000 total viewers watched the 11pm rerun of “The American Bible Challenge”.

Leading into “The American Bible Challenge”, a Steve Harvey-hosted episode of “Family Feud” drew its best-ever GSN ratings averaging a whopping 807,000 total viewers at 7:30 p.m.
To put these numbers into perspective, GSN averaged 430,000 viewers in prime time for the week of August 13, 2012. This year, the network has experienced audience growth from successful acquisitions of “Family Feud” episodes hosted by Steve Harvey, NBC’s recently-canceled game show “Minute to Win It”, and the aforementioned “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?”

Following “Bible”, the premiere of a new cooking competition, “Beat the Chefs” drew an average of 521,000 total viewers.
