WARNER BROS. DAYTIME TALKER LOOKS AHEAD TO SEASON TWO
Warner Bros. daytime talker Anderson, hosted by Anderson Cooper, will have a new name, Anderson Live, a new set, a new live format and a rotation of co-hosts when it kicks-off season two on Monday, September 10. The goal, of course, is for Cooper to cover stories while they are breaking. First up in the co-hosting chair is Kristin Chenoweth, with future co-hosts to include Goldie Hawn, Kelly Osbourne, Cyndi Lauper, Howie Mandel, Erin Andrews, D.L. Hughley and American’s Idol’s Kellie Pickler.
Season to-date (through August 12), Anderson is tied for No. 9 out of 12 entries in the talk show genre (with The Steve Wilkos Show from NBC Universal Television) at a 1.3 GAA (Gross Average Audience) household rating, according to Nielsen. First overall is Dr. Phil from CBS Television Distribution (2.9 rating: + 7 percent from one year earlier), followed by Dr. Oz (Sony Pictures Television, 2.7: +17), Live With Kelly! (Disney-ABC, 2.5: no change), Maury (NBCU, 2.3: no change), Ellen DeGeneres (Warner Bros., 2.2: + 5), Jerry Springer (NBCU) and Rachael Ray (CBS, 1.5: no change each) and The Doctors (CBS, 1.5: -12). Following Anderson and Steve Wilkos is Wendy Williams (Debmar-Mercury, 1.: +10), Nake Berkus (SPT, 1.0: no change) and Jeremy Kyle (Debmar-Mercury, 0.6).
