The new sitcom “Anger Management,” starring Charlie Sheen and Selma Blair, has officially received a 90-episode order from its network, FX. This will bring the total number of episodes for its series run to an even 100.
Based on the arrangement of the deal, “Anger Management” drew enough of an audience for the 90-episode pickup. According to Nielsen Media Research, the comedy from Lionsgate Television and Debmar-Mercury is the highest-rated new comedy series on cable in 2012, averaging 4.53 million Total Viewers and 2.5 million Adults 18-49.
It was recently announced that award-winning actor Martin Sheen will join the cast of “Anger Management” in a recurring role, playing Charlie’s father.
In “Anger Management”, Charlie Sheen stars as a non-traditional therapist specializing in anger management. He has a successful private practice, holding sessions with his group of primary patient regulars each week, as well as performing pro bono counseling for an inmate group at a state prison.
