DEXTER AND HOMELAND SEASON OPENERS SCORE ON SEPT. 30
Showtime delivered its largest Sunday night audience ever on September 30 care of the season-premiere episodes of Dexter and Homeland. Dexter opened its seventh season with 2.40 million viewers at 9 p.m., according to Nielsen, which is now the most-watched episode of any series on the cable network this year (50 percent above the 1.6 million for Shameless on March 4). Comparably, that was up by 10 percent from the season six premiere.
Homeland, meanwhile, returned with 1.73 million viewers at 10 p.m. And Homeland, comparably, is now the most-watched season two premiere of any series on Showtime, with growth of 60 percent from the series-opener (1.08 million).
