Positive Opening Levels for New Hallmark Channel Talkers

MARIE THE EARLY STANDOUT OF THE DUO

One day, of course, does not a hit or miss make. But based on the preliminary overnights from Nielsen, Marie, hosted by Marie Osmond, was off and running on Hallmark Channel. And lead-in Home & Family, hosted by Paige Davis and Mark Steines, was also sampled.

Home & Family averaged 160,000 total viewers in the 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. block on Monday, which built by four percent from the third quarter 2012 time period average. And the initial results among target women 25-54 (41,000) was up by 28 percent. But the true standout was Marie, which rose to 320,000 viewers and 95,000 women 25-54 in the noon hour. Comparably, that bested the third quarter time period average by 285 percent in total viewers and a mammoth 493 percent in the demo. And Marie built out of Home & Family by 100 percent in total viewers and 132 percent among women 25-54. Stay tuned.

I give this show one month at the most. I do not have time to listen to chatter. I want an informative show like Martha Stewart. The show kept moving, it was interesting. These hosts are trying too hard and the show is totally boring. I really don’t know what Hallmark was thinking when they put this show on the air.

    I hope you post this.

The problem with Martha Stewart was the low ratings…no one was really watching anymore.

I completely agree with Tpr51- the hosts try way too hard- to the point it’s obviously phony & comes insincere. In fact, they’re just plain irritating. Quite disappointed this is what Hallmark put out- they are capable of so much better. Martha & Marie will always be great. Hopefully Hallmark will pull Paige & Mark asap- poor representation of what we like to think Hallmark to be. You need to understand your viewers & what they want to view far better!
