CHRONOLOGY OF FEMALE ‘IDOL’ JUDGES FEUD

This past week, the website TMZ obtained video of a shouting match between “American Idol” judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey (as included below). It was only further evidence of a rift between the two women that have been brewing since this past summer. The following are events that occurred that led to such disharmony:
July 12, 2012: Steven Tyler departs “American Idol” (link)
July 13, 2012: Jennifer Lopez departs “American Idol” (link)
July 23, 2012: Mariah Carey signs on to “American Idol” for a reported 1-year salary of $18 million (link)
August 21, 2012: Mariah Carey allegedly hung up the phone when she was told rumors of pop-hip hop artist Nicki Minaj becoming an “American Idol” judge. Sources informed TMZ that Carey was led to believe she’d be the lone female judge on the panel. (Source: TMZ)
September 16, 2012: Fox officially names its new 4-member judging panel for and “American Idol”: Randy Jackson, Mariah Carey, country superstar Keith Urban and Nicki Minaj. (link)
They immediately begin their jobs for the new season at the New York City auditions. According to anonymous sources, however, things did not start on a positive note. Minaj allegedly arrived 45 minutes late. (Source: TMZ) Then, Carey repeatedly interrupted Minaj’s judgments of auditioners which would then lead to Minaj coming back by speaking even louder.
