BEN AND KATE AND THE MINDY PROJECT RECEIVE ADDITIONAL EPISODE ORDERS

Fox has given a vote of confidence to freshman Tuesday comedies Ben and Kate and The Mindy Project, with an order for six additional episodes of Ben and Kate and the traditional nine for The Mindy Project.

Episode two of Ben and Kate, which airs out of Raising Hope on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m., averaged 3.22 million viewers with a 1.6 rating/5 share among adults 18-49 (out of 3.90 million viewers and a 1.7/ 5 in the demo for Raising Hope), according to the Live Plus Same Day results on October 2. The Mindy Project, also episode two, averaged 3.68 million viewers and a 1.9/ 5 among adults 18-49 at 9:30 p.m. (out of 4.99 million and a 2.8/ 7 in the demo for New Girl). Both half-hours finished fourth in total viewers and third in their time periods among adults 18-49.

At present, five of the 21 new fall series (including NBC’s Revolution, Go On and The New Normal) have now been renewed for the remainder of the season. On the flipside are Partners and Made in Jersey on CBS, and The Mob Doctor on Fox, which are in a three-way race to become the first new series cancellation of the season.
