REMAKE RISES TO NEW HEIGHTS ON LIFETIME
The remake of classic theatrical Steel Magnolias, starring and executive produced by Queen Latifah, is now Lifetime’s third most-watched original telecast ever. Steel Magnolias averaged 6.5 million viewers on Sunday (according to Nielsen) — the biggest audience for any telecast on Lifetime since Life is a Not a Fairy Tale: The Fantasia Barrino Story in 2006. And the results demographically (3.2 million adults 25-54 and 2.5 million women 25-54) were the highest in adults 25-54 since the premiere of Almost Golden: The Jessica Savitch Story in 1995, and best ever among women 25-54 in the cable net’s history.
