ARROW OFF AND RUNNING ON THE CW; RESPECTABLE NASHVILLE OPENER ON ABC
There were three drama debuts last night – Nashville on ABC, Chicago Fire on NBC and Arrow on The CW. But it was CBS and Fox who ruled, with CBS’ combination of Survivor: Philippines, Criminal Minds and CSI first overall in total viewers; and the home of The X Factor No. 1 among adults 18-49.
The CW got much needed positive news care of Arrow, the network’s highest rated new series-opener (Viewers: #5, 4.02 million; A18-49: #4t, 1.3 rating/4 share at 8 p.m.) since The Vampire Diaries in 2009. Nashville on ABC, meanwhile, bested competing Chicago Fire on NBC by 2.54 million viewers (8.90 million vs. 6.44 million) and 47 percent among adults 18-49 (2.8/ 8 vs. 1.9/ 5). And Nashville finished first in the 10 p.m. hour among adults 18-49. But veteran CSI on CBS was most-watched in the time period with 10.58 million viewers.

Elsewhere, the battle of the 8-9 p.m. sitcoms fell in ABC’s corner care of The Middle and The Neighbors (versus Animal Practice and Guys With Kids on NBC); two episodes of Modern Family on ABC provided ample lead-in support to the launch of Nashville; and veteran Supernatural got a lift are of lead-in Arrow.

Animal Practice is going to get the ax along with Mob Doctor. Will watch plot of Arrow tomorrow when The CW reairs the plot.
