FOOTBALL ON ABC AND BASEBALL ON FOX SHARE LEADERSHIP

It was the battle of football versus baseball, with game three of The World Series on Fox first overall in total viewers and Saturday Night Football on ABC tops among adults 18-49 (according to the fast affiliate results from Nielsen). San Francisco vs. Detroit averaged an approximate 8.59 million viewers and a 2.3 rating/7 share among adults 18-49 in primetime, while Notre Dame vs. Oklahoma on Saturday Night Football finished with 7.61 million viewers and a 2.5/ 8 in the demo. While this is certainly nothing extraordinary for a World Series Game, the two events combined prove there is still an audience available for network television on Saturday. Keep in mind, of course, that results for any live sporting event are approximate.

Elsewhere, CBS filled the evening with encore telecasts of Hawaii Five-O and Criminal Minds from 8-10 p.m., followed by 48 Hours Mystery at 10 p.m. And NBC ran repeats of Revolution, Chicago Fire and Law & Order: SVU.
