THE VOICE IGNITES NBC

Yes, there are still Nielsen “sweep” periods. And 15 days into November 2012 (Oct. 25 – Nov. 8), the first fall edition of The Voice on NBC has lifted the network to first among adults 18-49, with a 3.0 rating/8 share. Comparably, that is a healthy 24 percent above second-place CBS, which means that NBC will win its first November sweeps in the demo in 10 years. CBS is still tops in total viewers, with 10.54 million (and 2.27 million more than No. 2 NBC). But the Eye net is off by 12 percent versus the comparable year-ago period, and ABC, Fox and The CW are also on the downside. The biggest loser is Fox at erosion of 28 percent in total viewers and 31 percent among adults 18-49. Sorry, Britney Spears and Demi Lovato, but The Voice is a much bigger attraction than the X Factor.
What follows are the results to-date for each of the five networks in total viewers and adults 18-49 (with change versus the comparable year-ago period in parentheses). The November 2012 sweeps ends on November 21.
-Total Viewers:
