THE EMPHASIS IS ON KEEPING ELEMENTARY AFLOAT
Unlike just last season when CBS introduced two new bona fide hits, 2 Broke Girls and Person of Interest (not to mention Mike & Molly and Hawaii Five-O one year earlier), the quartet of new Eye net series have disappointed this season. In an effort to avoid a record of 0 for 4, CBS has upped the full season episode order for Thursday drama Elementary from 22 to 24 hours (in addition to positioning it in the coveted Super Bowl lead-out time period on February 3). And it has trimmed the 22-episode order for older-skewing Vegas on Tuesday to 21. Just this week, Vegas tied its lowest rating, to-date, among adults 18-49, with a 1.6 rating/5 share (according to the Live Plus Same Day data on November 13).
CBS, of course, canceled Friday night legal drama Made in Jersey after just two episodes and it waiting to swing the axe on struggling Monday sitcom Partners.
