THE ROAD TO SUPER BOWL XLVII WILL BE TELEVISED

NFL Playoffs

By Douglas Pucci

The National Football League announced their postseason television schedule on Sunday, December 30.

The Cincinnati Bengals and Houston Texans kickoff Wild Card weekend on NBC for the second consecutive year on Saturday, January 5, followed by an intriguing NFC matchup (also on NBC) in the Saturday evening slot featuring the Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers – a rematch of their Week 17 classic that was played just six days prior.

Sunday, January 6 sees a record three rookie quarterbacks start in playoff games, as Andrew Luck and his Indianapolis Colts visit the Baltimore Ravens on CBS at 1 p.m. Then, in the late afternoon, Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks visit the NFC East Champion Washington Redskins, led by Robert “RG III” Griffin III, on Fox.

The home teams and their scheduled times have also been announced for the following weekend’s Divisional playoff games. CBS will air AFC’s top-seeded Denver Broncos on Saturday, Jan. 12 at 4:30 p.m. and air AFC’s second-seeded New England Patriots on Sunday, Jan. 13 at 4:30 p.m. Fox will air NFC’s second-seeded San Francisco 49ers on Saturday, Jan. 12 at 8:00 p.m. and air NFC’s top-seeded Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, Jan. 13 at 1:00 p.m.
