ABC REMAINS THE NETWORK TO RING THE NEW YEAR IN WITH

A night of New Year’s Eve celebrations, including New Year’s Rockin’ Eve Celebrates Dick Clark and Dick Clark’s Primetime New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest averaged a dominant 10.65 million viewers and a 3.1 rating/10 share among adults 18-49 on Monday (according to the fast affiliate results from Nielsen). Comparably, this more than doubled the nearest competitor (CBS in total viewers – 4.03 million; NBC in adults 18-49 – 0.9/ 3), with ABC’s biggest New Year’s Eve ratings since December 31, 2000. New Year’s Rockin’ Eve Celebrates Dick Clark averaged 9.35 million viewers and a 2.6/ 9 in the demo from 8-10 p.m.; while Dick Clark’s Primetime New Year’s Rockin’ Eve special took top-rated honors of the evening with 13.26 million viewers and a 4.1/14 in the demo at 10 p.m.
On NBC, New Year’s Eve With Carson Daly could not compete at 10 p.m., with just 3.75 million viewers (#3 in the time period) and a 1.1/ 4 among adults 18-49 (#2).
