EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION STAR NAMED HOST OF AMERICAN JOURNEY
Ty Pennington of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition fame (and The Revolution failure) has been named host of upcoming HLN half-hour monthly American Journey, which will cover the stories of individuals and communities who address today’s challenges by applying the lessons of American pioneers. American Journey will take a close-up look into the lives of these people who don’t necessarily fit the “9 to 5” workday mold.
“I’ve covered a lot of ground across America as host of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and seen first-hand the resilience of the American spirit regardless of the heavy burdens and obstacles they’ve faced,” said Ty Pennington. “I’m happy to be part of American Journey and work with HLN to uncover inspirational stories that will surely have a positive impact on viewers.”
American Journey will debut on Saturday, January 12 at 8 p.m. ET, with an encore the following day (also at 8 p.m. ET). Ten initial episodes have been ordered.

As Mary suggested, this has never been personal against former ABC on-camera folk, just the decisions of ABC itself. As for Ty himself, he may have truly found his niche this time
