HUT LEVELS ON THE PLUS SIDE ON THIS FIRST FRIDAY IN JANUARY
It was an easy victory for Fox and proof that viewers will still tune into television on Friday if there was something worth watching. The Texas A&M Aggies vs. the Oklahoma Sooners on the AT&T Cotton Bowl scored an estimated 11.40 million viewers and a 3.3 rating/10 share among adults 18-49 (according to the fast affiliate results from Nielsen). And that, comparably, bested the No. 2 network (CBS in total viewers; ABC in adults 18-49) by 2.52 million viewers and 120 percent in the demo. Keep in mind, of course, that results for any live sporting event are approximate.

Elsewhere, ABC and CBS’ regularly scheduled Friday line-ups were both slightly below average opposite The Cotton Bowl. And The CW populated this first Friday in January with encores of Nikita and Arrow.
