FOUR MORE DOCUSERIES ON THE AGENDA
OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network announced four new non-scripted shows for 2013 at the Discovery Networks portion of the Winter Tour. The first, Blackboard Wars, which premieres in March, centers on the transformation of troubled John McDonogh High School in New Orleans. Next is Golden Sisters, the Golden Girls of docuseries, which follows the comical adventures of there senior sisters who shot to fame after a web video of the ladies watching a celebrity sex tape went viral.
Raising Whitley (working title), meanwhile, follows actress and comedienne Kym Whitley and the friends she is hoping to raise a baby with together. And Dogfellas (also a working title) features James “Head” Guiliana, a former street enforcer for the mafia who opens a dog grooming parlor in Brooklyn after encountering a stray puppy.
