CNN Tops Coverage of the President’s Official Swearing In

CNN was the most-watched cable news network, according to Nielsen, for coverage of President Barack Obama swearing into office for his second four-year term on Sunday, January 20 before the public inauguration on the steps of the U.S. Capitol. CNN finished first in both total viewers and key adults 25-54 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. ET and in primetime (from 8-11 p.m. ET) as follows:

11 a.m. – 2p.m. ET
CNN: 982,000 viewers; 287,000 adults 25-54
FNC: 717,000 viewers; A25-54: 135,000
MSNBC: 425,000 viewers; A25-54: 153,000

8-11 p.m. ET
CNN: 761,000 viewers; 171,000 adults 25-54
FNC: 630,000 viewers; A25-54: 94,000
MSNBC: 245,000 viewers; A25-54: 115,000
