Weigel Broadcasting Company and Nielsen have reached an agreement to begin national television audience measurement of nostalgia themed cable network Me-TV network effective this spring. Since launching on January 1, 2005 (in Chicago), distribution for Me-TV has grown to 141 affiliates and 87 percent of the country, which has met Nielsen’s policies for reporting as a national TV network.
“The ratings for the Me-TV Network that Nielsen shared with us were above our expectations and certainly grabbed our attention,” said Neal Sabin, Weigel Broadcasting Company, President of Content and Networks. “Now that we are subscribers, we can take our impressive story to advertisers and their agencies. We will now have the credibility of Nielsen’s national measurement service just like the major broadcast and cable networks.”
Me-TV’s library of almost 100 series from Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution, CBS Television Distribution, NBCUniversal Television and independent series owners and producers, includes classics like I Love Lucy, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Brady Bunch, MASH, The Beverly Hillbillies, The Dick Van Dyke Show, Gunsmoke, Hawaii Five-O and Perry Mason.
