On Thursday (Jan. 31), BuzzerBlog.com (link) reported of GSN’s casting call for new episodes of “Minute to Win It.”
The game show is an unofficial update of the classic “Beat The Clock” where contestants attempt increasingly difficult stunts, each within a minute, for a chance to win an ultimate large cash prize.
It had aired on NBC from March 2010 to September 2011 and was hosted by Food Network star, Guy Fieri. Currently, MundoFOX has aired a Spanish-language edition entitled “Minuto Para Ganar” since its August 2012 network launch.
Since July of 2012, GSN have rerun NBC’s former episodes to decent ratings success.
According to BuzzerBlog, forty (40) new hour-long episodes have been ordered by GSN. The show’s casting notice indicates there will be teams of two competing in each episode – a format installed in the latter part of NBC’s original run.
It is unknown whether or not Guy Fieri will return as host.
“Minute to Win It” marks GSN’s ninth game show revival. “The Newlywed Game” with host Sherri Shepherd is still in production for the network. At this time, it is unclear if their most recent revival entry, “The Pyramid,” will move forward with a second season.
