Zombie comedy Warm Bodies from Summit topped the weekend ending February 3, with $20.0 million in the domestic box office results (according to data from the Rentrak Corporation). Last weekend’s top-grossing film, Paramount’s Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters starring Jeremy Renner, fell 53 percent to a second-place $9.2 million. Silver Linings Playbook from The Weinstein Company, starring Golden Globe Award and Screen Actors Guild Award winner Jennifer Lawrence, earned $8.1 million, finishing third. The film is projected to cross the $100-million domestic gross threshold by (or before) Academy Awards weekend (Feb. 22-24).
Despite heavy promotion for Sylvester Stallone’s Bullet to the Head from Warner Bros., the film grossed a paltry $4.5 million, ranking sixth.
