RESULTS WILL BE HIGHER ONCE THE LIVE PLUS SAME DAY DATA IS AVAILABLE

Based on the fast affiliate results from Nielsen, ratings for the Baltimore Ravens’ 34-31 victory over the San Francisco 49ers is approximate because of the absence of the 6:30 p.m. half-hour, the 8:45-9:15 p.m. ET power outage and an estimated 15-minutes of the Post Game from 10:45-11 p.m. So, what you are about to see will be higher once the Live Plus Same Day data is factored in. With that in mind, Super Bowl XLVII averaged a very approximate 97.20 million viewers with a 35.6 rating/69 share among adults 18-49.
As a benchmark, the New York Giants vs. the New England Patriots last year on Super Bowl XLVI was the most-watched show in U.S. television history, with 111.3 million viewers from 6:31-9:58 p.m. ET on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2012. The then record was 111.0 million for Green Bay vs. Pittsburgh in 2011. Will the higher results once the Live Plus Same Day data is available be enough to top the record? Stay tuned for an update later today.
