STRONGER HUT LEVELS PROVE BENEFICIAL FOR THE LATE NIGHT TALKER
It is not tops among adults 18-49 in the 11:35 p.m.-12:35 a.m. daypart…yet. But four weeks after moving up one half-hour, Jimmy Kimmel Live on ABC is trailing The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on NBC by only 69,000 viewers in the demo (994,000 vs. 1.063 million based on Jan. 7-Feb. 1). And Kimmel has increased from the comparable year-ago four-week period (when it aired from 12:05-1:05 a.m. – hence higher HUT levels at present) by 66 percent in total viewers (2.84 vs. 1.71 million), 51 percent in adults 18-49 (994,000 vs. 658,000) and 53 percent in adults 18-34 (362,000 vs. 236,000).

Relocated Nightline at 12:35 a.m., meanwhile, has increased from Kimmel one year earlier by 16 percent in total viewers. But the young adult demo results are, of course, notably lower for the older-skewing news program.

Don’t forget to point out this is his LOWEST rated return yet since being put in this time slot.
