THE FIRST REGULARLY SCHEDULED SERIES FOR THE NET ON THE EVENING IN 6 YEARS
Chances of a ratings explosion, so to speak, are unlikely, unfortunately. But ABC will attempt to liven deadly Saturday with the arrival of two new non-scripted series: Bet on Your Baby and Troop Stars. Hosted by Melissa Peterman (Reba, Baby Daddy), Bet on Your Baby is a game show (from Electus and 5×5 Media) where parents try to predict their child’s next move in an effort to win money for his or her future education. It debuts on Saturday, April 6 at 8 p.m. ET with the first of eight episodes. Troop Stars from 5 Streams Global Entertainment, which opens in the time period on June 15, is a singing competition featuring current and former soldiers.
The last time ABC aired a regularly scheduled series on Saturday was in August 2007 care of short-lived scripted anthology drama Masters of Science Fiction. It ran for just four weeks.
