The Job on CBS Expected to Be Terminated

February 16, 2013 by marcberman in Highlights with 0 Comments

SPLIT LEADERSHIP BETWEEN ABC AND CBS ON SLUGGISH FRIDAY

CBS and ABC dominated this sluggish third Friday in February, with CBS most-watched and the home of Shark Tank tops among adults 18-49. But the Eye net has sprung a considerable leak at 8 p.m. with week two of reality/competition The Job at just 3.37 million viewers (#3) and a fourth-place 0.7 rating/2 share among adults 18-49 at 8 p.m. (according to the fast affiliate results from, Nielsen). Comparably, this is a hefty loss from recent and year-ago time period occupant Undercover Boss. And it dropped from last week’s already DOA opener (Viewers: 4.01 million; A18-49: 0.9/ 3, according to the Live Plus Same Day data on Feb. 8) by 640,000 viewers and 22 percent in the demo. Chances are CBS will pull the plug before episode three.

Elsewhere, aforementioned Shark Tank on ABC led the night among adults 18-49, with a 1.8/ 6 in the demo (and growth of 64 percent from on-the-fence lead-in Malibu Country). And Blue Bloods on CBS was most-watched with 10.62 million viewers on CBS. But Fox drama Touch with Kiefer Sutherland slipped to just 2.53 million viewers and a 0.7/ 2 among adults 18-49 at 9 p.m. And 2009 theatrical Paper Heart was off the charts on The CW. Two-hours of Dateline on NBC, meanwhile, got some mileage with a report focusing the stranded Carnival cruise ship from 8-10 p.m., but relocated Rock Center With Brian Williams dipped to third at 10 p.m.
