Split Leadership on Sunday

February 18, 2013 by marcberman in Highlights with 0 Comments

CBS AND ABC TOP BELOW-AVERAGE EVENING

CBS and Fox shared leadership on this below-average rated Sunday, with CBS most-watched and Fox No. 1 among adults 18-49. But the blatant observation is considerable slippage for the two established dramas that moved to the evening: Revenge on ABC and The Mentalist on CBS.

In season-premiere news, The Amazing Race on CBS is off to a positive return, with 9.54 million viewers (#1) and a 2.4 rating/6 share among adults 18-49 at 8 p.m. (according to the fast affiliate results from Nielsen). And that did, comparably, build from lead-in 60 Minutes by 85 percent in the demo while performing at levels close to the year-ago season-opener.

Elsewhere, Family Guy remained the stand-out on Fox; ABC tried to find new eyeballs for the Zero Hour pilot with an encore telecast at 10 p.m. ET; older skewing The Good Wife slid by 42 percent among adults 18-49 out of The Amazing Race; and NBC populated the 8-11 p.m. block (out of Dateline) with encores of Betty White’s Off Their Rockers and special SNL in the ‘90s: Pop Culture Nation.
