TNT LOOKS TO ADD EYEBALLS FOR THE SOPHOMORE REVIVAL
If you were a fan of the original “Dallas” (check) or just want to escape with a soapy hour of weekly drama filled with endless twists and turns (check), TNT will make the current season available online. As the sophomore revival prepares for the funeral of the late Larry Hagman as the one and only J.R. Ewing, the first six episodes of “Dallas” will be available at http://tntdrama.com and through the TNT mobile app. The seventh episode next Monday will join the online pack the day after it airs on TNT, and Monday, March 12 marks the funeral of J.R.
Not as potent as season one last summer, “Dallas” in the more competitive waters of the traditional (September to May) TV season, is on a slow rise. Monday’s telecast averaged 2.55 million viewers, which should be enough to crack the 3+-million viewer mark once the DVR usage is factored in. While this is still below the 4.3 million it averaged in season one, it is the third consecutive week of minor gains for the clan called Ewing.
