The Chew vs. All My Children Update

December 2, 2011 by marcberman in Highlights with 9 Comments

Recent ABC daytime talk show The Chew has settled in, no doubt, with 2.51 million viewers for the holiday week of Nov. 22.  The positive news was surpassing year-ago time period occupant All My Children (2.44 million) in total audience.  But All My Children still held an advantage among target women 25-54 (1.3 vs. 1.1 rating), women 18-49 (0.9 vs. 0.7) and women 18-34 (0.5 vs. 0.4).

The Chew beat The Talk on CBS this week in total viewers (2.51 vs. 2.08 million) and women 25-54 (1.1 vs. 0.9), and the two tied in the other female demos.  But The View on ABC stands well above The Chew and The Talk, with 3.99 million viewers, a 1.7 rating in women 25-54 and a 1.2 among women 18-49.

All I can say is I’m surprised The Chew had that many viewers. The hosts are great chefs, no doubt about that, but they are HORRIBLE talk show hosts. I tried to watch them but frankly they are just annoying. Rachael Ray, great show, Food Network has lots of great shows but The Chew, sorry but it sucks! I wish ABC would give us something besides another talk show or reality show. They are getting old.

The Chew is not digestible. I love both of the soaps especially OLTL. If I want a cooking show, at night I will watch Rachel, Paula or one of the many excellent food network cooks. Afternoon ABC now officially has nothing worthwhile to watch. There is too much news and none of it uplifting and too much reality. The purpose of TV for me is to escape some of the sadness in todays times and thanks a lot ABC,, you have added to the sadness. Chew on this, the Chew is awful.

Bring back All my Children and One life to Live! The chew and the Revolution are obviously quick fixs to replace the soaps!

    Bad decisions!
