MEGASTUNTS SPECIAL PROVES THERE IS AN AVAILABLE AUDIENCE ON FRIDAY
Dominant ABC benefited by Megastunts: Highwire Over Niagara Falls Live!, which led the network to its most-watched Friday since November 30, 2007. The two-hour special averaged 10.14 million viewers and a 2.5 rating/9 share among adults 18-49 from 9-11 p.m., peaking in the 10:30 p.m. half-hour with 13.07 million viewers and a 3.4/11 in the demo, according to Nielsen. Megastunts: Highwire Over Niagara Falls Live! is now the most-watched non-sports summertime telecast on any network since at least 2006.
Earlier in the evening on ABC was Countdown to Niagara: The Greatest Megastunts of All at a first-place 5.71 million viewers and a 1.2/ 5 in the 8 p.m. hour.
Elsewhere, only two-hours of Dateline on NBC was original, and it finished second in the 9-11 p.m. block with 4.74 million viewers and a 1.2/ 4 among adults 18-49. Under 2-million viewers with a 0.5/ 2 in the demo for encore telecasts of NBC comedies Whitney and Community in the 8 p.m. hour, meanwhile, could indicate no interest this fall.
