NON-SCRIPTED LIFE IN THE LOUISIANA BAYOU CONTINUES
A&E has renewed Duck Dynasty for a second season, with an order for 26 new half-hour episodes slated to premiere in fourth quarter 2012. Duck Dynasty follows a family named Robertson that operates a thriving duck call business while staying true to their family values and lifestyle on the Louisiana bayou.
The season one finale on Wednesday, May 23 finished as the most-watched original series on the evening with 2.6 million total viewers, according to Nielsen.
“There is truly no one else like the Robertsons in the TV landscape,” said David McKillop, Executive Vice President, Programming, A&E. “We are proud to have them as a part of our A&E family and excited to bring fans a new season of their unique brand of southern schooling.”
Production is slated to begin this summer.
