Finally an official confirmation.

Thank you Marc. We suspected this was going to happen pleased to see it has been officially announced.

Thanks for keeping us posted Marc. ABC will see that it will not matter when #GH is shown, viewers will follow it. This just means my TV will be on at 1:00 (like it used to be for OLTL) and off at 2:00. GAA(g) & Katie will suffer the same fate as The Revolution.

OMG I just LOVE ABC/Disney………….thank you, thank you….NOT! GH would have been dumped in a heartbeat if they weren’t feeling the heat from soap fans. Will I watch? You betcha! Will I forgive ABC, hell no!
Thanks for the update Marc.

I don’t like it because I usually get home from work about 3pm. I will either have to invest in a DVD or watch it online. I can watch in the evenings on Soapnet as long as *that* lasts, but who knows when the curtains get pulled on Soapnet. I will not watch Katie or GAA. In fact, I won’t watch anything on ABC except GH.

Thank you Marc I will just have to set my DVR for 1:00. It wouldn’t have matter what time it was on I would follow.

I will continue to boycott ABC except for the General Hospital hour, whether it’s 2pm or 1pm.

I am so happy General Hospital didn’t get cancelled, but it still isn’t safe. Katie should have taken the 4:00PM timeslot that Oprah vacated. ABC needs to reinstate One Life To Live and All My Children, or release the rights. I no longer watch ABC exclusively like I used to. I now only watch General Hospital and I will watch or DVR it in its new timeslot.

Thanks as usual Mr. Berman for keeping us in the know and for your insightful articles. You have been such a help to all of us in our efforts to revive a dying genre! Long live GH in any time slot, and bring back OLTL and AMC.

Time period doesn’t matter. GH will soon go the way of all the other cancelled soaps. Ditto for Days and the two on CBS. The audience simply isn’t there anymore. Economically, the networks can make more off the cheap talk and reality, not that they’re necessarily “better”. I’m kind of surprised that Soap fans haven’t targeted some of the cable networks for their shows or even the CW. Hell if they could get 2.5 million viewers a night out of General Hospital, you’d think they’d be all over that.

Mushu,
Ho hum, another hater comes out of the woodwork. You have no idea where we’ve been fighting since 4/11. And we WILL get other soaps back into production, whether you like it or not…

Congratulations to GH for its five Emmy wins! I will continue to only watch GH on ABC. Let’s have The Chew and GAA removed from the lineup in order that OLTL and AMC could return to their rightful time slots. Of course, that would entail ABC admitting it made two mistakes in canceling those two soaps. However, I intend to keep pressing ABC to do right by the soap fans.

General Hospital will always be a favorite hour of my day!!! I don’t care when it is on the air just don’t take it away. Furthermore, TNT is airing Dallas and it is super-fantastic!!! I love the soap genre and am thrilled to watch it. I wish OLTL were back. All these news shows and talk shows are a waste of time.

As always, Marc, thank you for keeping us involved, and as an aside-that’s the first time I had seen the temp opening in full. Good job, everyone

Thank you Marc for the conformation. I will watch GH no matter what time it goes on but as for the other shows SORRY. Katie’s other shows haven’t worked out so why should this one & GMA in the morning is enough. Neither will go if they are counting on soap fans. ABC screwed up & they know it but trying to fix it without admitting it.

50 years of love triangles, backstabbing, mob wars, family tragedies, surprise revelations, and overall drama. And now, so close to the 50 year anniversary of General Hospital, the tribe of soap fans has risen again!!!!! I don’t care if GH is on at 3:00, 2:00, 1:00, or at 12 midnight. Nothing is going to make me stop watching GH and avoiding all other ABC/Disney programs for the duration of the Save Our Soaps Movement. Chew and spew on that, Anne Sweeney and Katie Couric.

Thanks for the info Marc!! I am happy about GH moving an hour earlier that way I won’t have to record it and watch it later I can watch it when it’s on. 2pm central time was not a good time for me as I had to pick up my kids from school. That’s why I loved OLTL, I had that one hour before I had to get the kids to unwind and watch my story before they got home. Now I will have that hour back again with GH and it’ll be almost like when OLTL (I really miss that show) was on. My routine will go back to normal. Thanks again for all you do Marc for our soaps!!
