The View on ABC remains the talker to beat, with 3.18 million viewers for the week of June 18 down by 10 percent from the comparable year-ago period, according to the Live Plus Same Day results from Nielsen. The Talk on CBS finished a distant second (with an eight percent increase in total viewers and minor losses demographically), while The Chew on ABC continued to trail year-ago occupant All My Children in total viewers, women 18-49 and women 25-54. The Chew did, however, build by 34 percent in women 18-34.
ABC’s axed The Revolution, meanwhile, earned its cancellation stripes with 1.21 million viewers and a loss of 46 percent from year-ago occupant One Life To Live.
Here are the results for the surviving trio (with chance versus the comparable year-ago period in parentheses):
The View (ABC) – 11 a.m. ET
Viewers: 3.18 million (-10 percent), W18-49: 600,000 (-10), W25-54: 770,000 (-15), W18-34: 216,000 (+10)
The Talk (CBS) – 2 p.m. ET
Viewers: 2.28 million (+ 8), W18-49: 435,000 (- 7), W25-54: 576,000 (- 1), W18-34: 134,000 (-15)
The Chew (ABC) – 1 p.m. ET
Viewers: 2.19 million (- 9), W18-49: 418,000 (-10), W25-54: 515,000 (-21), W18-34: 184,000 (+34)

The Chew and The Talk essentially have comparable ratings. Unless they do as miserably as The Revolution, neither shows will get cancelled.

Rob, give it up-we know the truth. You have no clue what you’re talking about
RobJul 2, 2012 at 7:57 am
Oh I know what I’m talking about. The Chew is not going anywhere because it brings more profits to ABC than AMC did.
So deal with it, Troy.

Quit hiding behind network propaganda-we know the truth. Deal with THAT

Those shows need to be cancelled. WE want stories, not people just talking.

I want to know who the people are that find anything appealing about the Spew. They are horrid, with their goofy personalities, and I don’t mean that in a good way, and how they pick food up with their hands and stuff it in each others mouths, yuk! That Mario Bartali, who never seems to shower or change his clothes and Carly with her eyes popping out of her head and stupid dance moves. Daphne, who thinks she is better than everyone. The other guy, don’t know his name is pretty useless on the show. The only one I car for at all, is Chef Symon but I only like him on the Food Network, where he belongs. Whew, thanks for letting me vent!!!

What little I have seen of The Chew reminds me of the pitiful show which currently follows it, The Revolution. I urge everyone to boycott The Chew and continue to let ABC know you are still displeased with the cancellations of All My Children and One Life to Live. Also, please keep watching/DVRing/viewing General Hospital at ABC.com!

ABC and all the others need to realize that soap opera viewers are still out here, and we are faithful. Who else would be still complaining that we want our soaps back. All My Children and One Life to Live were classics. The classics never die. I guess we got to try to keep aiming for their wallets.

Thank you once again Marc for the new ratings. I along with so very many are still here and standing strong against ABC poor decision to cancel our beloved Soaps. ABC ‘ s ratings are still falling so we know in our hearts we are making a difference. At this point as well I have to believe that ABC knows it too but can’t say anything for they know a dreadful mistake has been made on their part.

Since cancelling both AMC and OLTL, ABC has been constantly trying to replace them with other shows, spending money on promotions and, now, rearranging timeslots. If they had just left well enough alone, they would have saved money, time and aggravation. They made a terrible decision in the cancellations and it’s just getting worse. Now, they’ve also lost many viewers – except for GH. I hope they do the right thing and release the rights to AMC and OLTL to someone who will give them the respect they deserve.
Neither GAA, Katie or the Chew are/will be supported by soap fans.

All My Children replaced by a show that cannot bring equal ratings. Such a shame. Hopefully another network will realize the value in the 2 canceled serials. I am not betting on ABC’s upcoming 2 new talkers to bounce up the daytime ratings. General Hospital remains its best bet. #GH ratings went up in fact last week again.

But I’m afraid that sandwiching GH between two failing shows could affect its ratings!!!
LindseyHJul 1, 2012 at 3:23 pm
I don’t watch anything on ABC except General Hospital.
Troy TurnerJul 2, 2012 at 4:08 am
9/46 percent. We’ll still take down The Chew, it’ll just take a little longer
RobJul 2, 2012 at 7:52 am
Really?
In which universe are you going to take down The Chew?
Troy TurnerJul 4, 2012 at 4:22 am
Scoff if you must, but it WILL happen…
RobJul 4, 2012 at 4:37 am
Troy, I don’t know if you realize how ridiculous you sound every time you post that same unoriginal nonsense about you taking down The Chew. Any decent person reading your post will automatically laugh.
BTW, as you can see above, The Chew is above All My Children by 34% in the W18-34 demo. Definitely, not a good sign in your mission to “take down The Chew”.
