FX’s new sitcom “Anger Management,” starring Charlie Sheen and Selma Blair, attracted 3.37 million total viewers in its regularly scheduled Thursday 9:30 p.m. time slot on July 5th, according to Nielsen. This was 2.37 million viewers (or 41.3 percent) below its record-ratings performance (5.74 million) for its premiere on June 28.
In adults 18-49, the July 5th episode earned 1.71 million viewers, which was down from both last week’s draws of 2.89 million (at 9:30 p.m.) and 2.65 million (at 9 p.m.).
“Anger Management” did manage to rank No. 2 for the night on cable, however, behind History Channel’s “Swamp People.”
The status for a potential 90-episode renewal of “Anger Management” from its arrangement with distributor Debmar-Mercury is still undetermined, at this time.
